Position: post-doc

Requirements:
Required qualifications:
- PhD degree in chemical technology, nanotechnology, chemical engineering,
  chemistry, materials science, environmental engineering, or related areas;
- experience in materials science or nanotechnology;
- experience in analytical techniques such as AFM, SEM, TEM, UV-vis and
  FTIR spectroscopy;
- laboratory skills for nanomaterials fabrication and/or testing;
- understanding the aspects of materials science and engineering relevant to
  the development of nanomaterials;
- a track record of high impact journal publications related to project subject;
- good English knowledge,
- ability to work independently as well as in international/interdisciplinary
  teams

Moreover, the Candidate must meet the NCN criteria for post-doc position
(https://www.ncn.gov.pl/finansowanie-nauki/konkursy/instrukcje/2015-koszty-w-projektach), namely:
- the Candidate is a person beginning a career in research with a doctoral degree obtained within the last 7 years prior to the employment in the project;
- during the employment period the Candidate should not obtain salary under an employment contract from any other entity.

Full-time employment for 24 months with a gross salary of 5600 PLN/month.

The scholarship is offered in the framework of the Martí i Franqués COFUND Fellowship Programme (MFP) of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain). The Martí i Franques COFUND Fellowships Programme (MFP) is a redesign of the existing MF programme, offering 25 doctoral contracts at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). The programme is uniquely shaped to offer the best training stemming from the "triple i" principles of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions: international, interdisciplinary and intersectorial. Candidates must comply with the mobility rule: not have resided in Spain more than 1 year in the last 3.

Requirements of the candidates:
-The excellence of the candidates, their accomplishments and their fit with the selected project will be evaluated.
- Not have resided in Spain more than 1 year in the last 3.
- Be in possession of a Diploma and Master Degree in Food Engineering, Food Science and
  Technology, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacy with
  above average results.
- Good laboratory skills
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (spoken and written / proficiency level).


Benefits:

Postdoctoral position
Research Fellow in Separation Technologies

Overview of the Role:
An experienced researcher is required for an Industry driven project in the area of separations/membrane filtration and Ion exchange for purification and improving the nutritional value of milk protein fractions. This project involves the evaluation of various commercial membranes and ion-exchange resins along with other processes to develop more economical and industrial feasible process for demineralised milk fractions for various food supplement applications.
Essential
1. The candidate must have a PhD in a relevant field such as chemistry/ dairy technology/biochemistry/chemical Engineering or physics and/or equivalent industrial experience.
2. Candidates must have demonstrated a proven knowledge of membrane separations, using ion exchange resins and cavitation processes for purification/ recovery of milk protein with the ability to solve challenging problems related to improving the nutritional value of milk protein.
3. Must have working experience with GC-MS, HPLC, ICP-MS, TEM/SEM and enzyme based analysis kits.
4. Must be a self-determined individual with a capacity to apply new, pre-existing or adjacent technologies to problem solving with minimal supervision
5. Good leadership skills with the ability to maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external partners is also required.
6. Excellent communication and written skills.
